Bro. Tony Shirley

Pastor Tony Shirley was born and raised in Green County, Kentucky. It was in this small town, in a little country church, Allendale Baptist ChurBro.Tonych, that Bro.Tony was saved and started his service for the Lord. He served as church pianist and youth choir director at Allendale Baptist for several years before coming to New Manna Baptist Church.

Bro. Tony moved to Marion, North Carolina in 1995 after graduating from Western Kentucky University to teach in our Christian School during its first year. It was also at this time that he met and married his wife Rebecca. They have served the Lord and our church together ever since. In that time, God has blessed the Shirleys with a daughter, Karsen Rene', and a son, Anthony Kooper.

Since coming to New Manna, Pastor Shirley has served as School Teacher, Administrator, Sunday School Teacher, Bus Captain, and Youth Pastor. God continually promoted Bro. Tony, until in January 2004 the church called him to be their pastor with a nearly unanimous vote. Bro. Tony has been our Pastor, preacher, and friend; and we are very excited to see how the Lord is going to use him in the upcoming years.

Bro. Matt McDaniel

Assistant to the Pastor

I trusted the Lord to be my Savior at the age of 11.  I had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home where parents regularly invested time in teaching my brothers andMatt1 me the Bible.  When I was 15, I surrendered to preach in a Sunday night service at New Manna.  Another milestone took place in my life when I was 17; I surrendered my life to God on a Tuesday night at New Manna Youth Camp.  After attending 12 years in Christian school and ultimately graduating from New Manna Christian, I received my B.A. in Theology from Andersonville Baptist College.

For the last 10 years, I have taught Bible at New Manna Christian School.  In 2006, I was hired full time at New Manna Baptist Church as an Assistant to the Pastor.  In addition, I oversee our Sunday School Department as well as teach an Adult Sunday school class - "The Producers."  I have also served as a bus captain for the last 13 years.  My family and I count it an honor and privilege to be a part of such a great ministry!

Bro. Charlie Gardin

Childrens' Ministry Director

I began coming to New Manna on the church bus. At the age of 9 I was saved while attending a youth camp. I completely surrendered my life to the Lord at a Camp Meeting service here at New Manna when I was 21.  Since that day there have been many blessings and opportunities along the way. God has allowed me to serve as a Sunday School teacher, bus worker, basketball coach, and I am currently a full time employee for the church and Christian School. This allows me to pour myself into the work of God each day!

My beautiful wife Shanna and our three boys, Simon, Spencer, and Wilson, mean everything to me. We are dedicated to our part in making a difference in the lives of our young people, for the Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 5:16

I began riding a church bus to New Manna Baptist Church when I was 5 years old. The Lord allowed me to get saved at the young age of twelve at our church camp. was able to still ride the bus to New Manna until I was sixteen and during that period of time I gave my life to the Lord. Not long after that God called me to preach and with thisnew direction in my life I transferred to New Manna Christian School where I completed my high school education. It was during my junior year at New Manna ChristianSchool that the Lord spoke to my heart and I surrendered to full time Christian service as a Christian school teacher.

After graduating from New Manna Christian School, I attended and completed two years at a local community college. However, God once again spoke to my heart during a church service and this time it was about attending Bible College. Through the counsel of my Pastor, Anthony Shirley, other godly men, and the Lord, I decided to attend Champion Baptist College in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Lord allowed me to come back home in the fall of 2009 and finish my student teaching at New Manna Christian School and graduated the following spring. I am now currently employed by New Manna Christian School. Married to Michelle; one son, Lucas Nathaniel.
